Commissioner Jaime Canales is headed to testify in Austin this week about the rapid growth of the Eagle Ford Shale causing more need for development in our community.
Canales says Webb is the largest and only urban county in the Eagle Ford Shale, and we are also the number one port city for commerce international trade.
With that areas like Mines Road and Highway 359 area are already experiencing heavier traffic.
“While we welcome the business and economic impact on the county, we need to convey to the legislatures the challenges we have to make sure we don’t have grid lock in our community. It’s important to let them know,” says Canales.
Canales say economic development and roadway safety are pivotal factors in supporting our local economy.
