Captured Zeta Leader Not Believed to Have Killed Hartley by Sheriff

By KGNS News

Hartley was killed while on his jet ski in the Mexican part of Falcon Lake and zeta member, Alvador Alfonso Martinez Escobedo could have a connection.
It's been over two years since David Hartley was killed at Falcon Lake by Mexican cartel members.
Details are still vague but the arrest of one zeta member may bring this a step closer to being closed.
(Zapata Sheriff): “The arrest of this individual, [Escobedo], who was supposedly connected to the David Hartley killing… I say supposedly because I really don't know what may have happened."
Gonzales said Escobedo is not one of the five people on the suspect list he gave the FBI when the 2010 tragedy happened.
“He's probably high up and was the leader at the time in this area where it happened and it's being attributed to him. As far as we know, however, he was not directly involved in the killing of David Hartley."
Since the murder happened on Mexican territory, the U.S. has no jurisdiction in this case, but the sheriff is asking one thing from the Mexican authorities.
"I know this is a lot to ask for because of the way things are happening in Mexico right now, but more vigilance, that this case try to be solved to bring closure to the family."
Escobedo is also a suspect for the slaying of 72 migrant workers back in the same year as the Hartley murder.
