A Laredo city councilman is the victim in a hit and run accident. Councilman Jorge Vera was in a pick up truck at the corner of McPherson and International at 1:45am. The suspect, 19-year-old Jonathan Villarreal was driving a black Acura and allegedly ran a red light. Police were able to catch up with him and arrest him at the 8600 block of Oakridge. He was found after police discovered the license plate of the Acura at the scene. Councilmen Vera reported feeling pain to his neck and shoulder but refused medical treatment. Meanwhile, Villarreal was arrested on charges of accident involving injury.
