Two drug busts by Customs and Border Protection this weekend at the Laredo Port of entry have taken about $15 million worth of drugs off the Laredo streets.
On Friday, customs officials said they made one of the largest heroin busts they've seen in years confiscating a total of 123 pounds.
The heroin seized has an estimated street value of $12.3 million.
The heroin was being smuggled through on a commercial bus and an inspection resulted in the discovery of 49-bundles.
Another weekend drug bust at the bridge also turns up over $2 million worth of cocaine.
On Sunday, customs discovered 34-packages of cocaine inside an SUV.
The packages contained a total of 87-pounds of cocaine.
Customs officials said it had an estimated street value of $2.7 million the driver of the SUV was a 40-year-old male from Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
