Debating Blunton's competency to stand trial
By KGNS News
The defense and prosecution appeared in court on Thursday for pre-trial motions in the Demond Bluntson case.
Bluntson is accused in the shooting deaths of two children. His attorney filed a motion for jury trial on the issue of his incompetency.
After they attempted to counsel him, they say he lacks sufficient ability to consult with lawyers.
A court-appointed psychiatrist will evaluate Bluntson and decide whether he is competent enough to stand trial.
Jury selection is expected to begin in the spring of 2014.
