A community action group, a businessman and former Laredo council member may soon find themselves in the middle of a lawsuit. VIDA members have accused councilman Charlie San Miguel and Adolfo Campero of having a conflict of interest and having too much control in Laredo politics these past months. Now Eduardo Garza and Uni-Trade Forwarding have filed a lawsuit that says his character has been tarnished. Ad hoc member and Eduardo Garza attorney, Adolfo Campero, filed a lawsuit to the county stating that Hector Farias, Jose A. Valdez and The Voices In Democratic Action also known as VIDA have acted in malicious intent to harm Eduardo Garza in his publication of the false, defamatory statement. Attorney for Eduardo Garza, Adolfo Campero said, "we feel like my client is being bullied by Hector Farias and VIDA, they have been unfairly competed against by Mr.Valdez." For several months, Campero says, Hector Farias and VIDA have been making derogatory statements that aren't true. "there's been a number of topics the defendants hector Farias and VIDA have commented on trying to link Eduardo Garza with matters that have nothing to do with him,” Campero said. And now he says he can take no more. "my client decided he could no longer tolerate his name and his companies image being tarnished in this very unfair and harmful manner. Campero reassures that his client has always worked in accordance to the rules and the laws. and Eduardo Garza says he just wants his image to return to normal. "I want things to clear up and for the truth to come forth," said Garza. We were not able to reach hector Farias. We did talk to Jose Valdez who says that he hasn't been served yet... and wouldn't comment until that information was available.
