The mayor and people of Encinal said they are excited for a new city hall building that is expected to be built by the end of this year. A one-stop shop for most of the small cities businesses. "Encinal, because of the Eagle Ford Shale, it's growing. I think this is something not just for the present residents, but for the future of Encinal." Congressman Cuellar presented a $1.5 million low interest loan to the cities officials. The loan will be for a 40-year period and will have a small three-percent interest rate, something that makes city officials jump for joy. "I would jump but I can't. We're excited." "This land is now only rocks and dirt, but city officials say the building should be complete by the end of this year." The new city hall will house the municipal court, city staff, city council chamber, the Encinal police and other city offices. This project has been four years in the making. "Four years ago Poncho, the state director and myself we were down here at the old city hall. They needed some help so we said what’s the best thing we can do for a small community that has just over 500 individuals. So we thought the best thing would be a city hall building." City officials said construction should start by the end of October. After construction starts, Encinal officials said construction of the new building will only take 90 days to complete.
