Family Of Marissa Keene Speaks About New Developments In Case
A $25,000 reward is now being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the murder case of Dr. Marissa Keene.
Laredo police now say Dr. Marissa Keene was murdered and her family says they're ready to seek justice.
It's what a mother says she's known all along.
“The family always knew it was a homicide.”
The gut feeling a father says he couldn’t ignore.
“It's been devastating just devastating i drive by her house on the way to work everyday and its just I'm gona change my route.”
the death of their daughter, Dr. Marissa Keene has officially been ruled a murder.
police are making the announcement over five years after the death bringing back memories for the family.
“I'll never forget that we were the first ones on the scene.”
Dr. Roger Keene said they spent time with their daughter hours before her death at Marissa Keenes north Laredo home.
“we were going to San Antonio the next day and the maid called us and said come quick. Marissas sick. And we couldn’t imagine what the that was. and we went to the house and she was in the pool.”
“the worst pain is for a mother to lose a child but to lose a child this way and not know who or why just makes it that much tougher.”
now with new developments in the case, friends and family of Marissa Keene have gathered $25,000 to offer as a reward for any information leading to an arrest.
Marissa Keenes brother says someone out there knows something.
He wants justice for the sister, mother, daughter and friend.
“Theres not one person i knew that ever said anything bad about here. shes just a great mother and great sister and somebody went to her home and murdered her and they need to pay for that.”
the family has set up a website, justiceformarissa.com, as part of a campaign to find out who killed their daughter.
On it is a link to the Laredo police department website where you can anonymously submit a tip online.
Police say anyone with information can also call 795-2800 or 727-TIPS.
Police say there are no suspects in the case.
