The family of slain ICE Agent Jaime Zapata has filed a lawsuit against the government. The lawsuit was filed Tuesday, and alleges that Jaime Zapata and another agent, Victor Avila, should have never been in Mexico in the first place.
Zapata was killed and Avila injured on February 15th, 2011, when their SUV was ambushed on a Mexican highway near San Luis Potosi. The federal lawsuit names nearly two dozen people. Zapata was an ICE Agent based here in the Laredo office.
