Final Preps For Election Day Being Made in Webb County

Election day is only hours away and the local elections office is ready for what will be a very busy day. Our Annette Garcia was out at the elections office for a look at all the preparations. Elections office employees actually began preparing days ago, event spent Saturday sorting through all the supplies needed for the big day tomorrow. The elections office welcoming the judges who will mann the polls on elections day. The judges all checked in with the elections administrator Monday afternoon to pick up the supplies needed, including the thousands of ballots that will be used Tuesday by the voters of Webb County. “What the law says is that they have to sign all the ballots in the back. and the ballots are each two sheets so they have a lot of signing to do.” Just over 30,000 people voted early in Webb County. “I expect a lot of lines to be out tomorrow a lot of voters to be there.” Another 14,000 to 15,000 people are expected at the polls on election day. “It's good that everyone went out to make their choice on whos going to be running the Laredo area and even the unites states.” Elections officials spent the weekend preparing and Monday meeting with the judges of the 60 polling sites. “Make sure they have everything that they need.” Getting ready for the final rush to the voting booths. “Everybody gets off at five o'clock and that’s when they head to the polls.” Voters say they're ready for the results. “Hopefully the best candidate wins.”
