A driver flees from police and heads straight towards the Rio Grande after officers attempted to pull him over Tuesday morning.
Police say Ricardo Ballesteros drove into an embankment on the river as he was allegedly fleeing from police around four this morning.
Authorities say the chase began in west Laredo near Lafayette and Santa Maria and ended on Madison and Anna near the riverbanks.
Police believe the suspect was trying to drive into the river but instead fell into the embankment.
Ammunition was found in the trunk of the car but police are planning to do a thorough check of the vehicle.
Ballesteros faces a long list of charges.
