Gonzalez Honored at Miss Texas USA

Five Laredo girls competed in Houston this weekend for the crown of Miss Texas USA. But, last night the spot light shined on their consultant.
The prestigious pageant honored Roel Gonzalez as a top recruiter in Texas.
Gonzales took over the Miss Laredo pageant four years ago, and since then girls from our city have won two Miss Teen Texas Crowns, one Miss Texas Crown, and one runner up for Miss USA.
Not too long ago Laredo was new to the pageant.
Gonzalez says he believed girls from our city could make their mark and now they compete with confidence.
“I thought about it, and said Laredo has something to show in a positive way. And that’s what we’re doing. Keeping it positive. I always knew Laredo had it. I’ve been doing pageants for 18 years. I’ll be doing 18 more, and I won’t stop till we get that Miss Universe crown. Trust me,” Gonzalez said.
At tonight’s Miss Texas pageant Laredo’s Lauren Guzman placed fourth runner up, and Barbie Falcon placed 3 rd.
