Widow Upset Over Gravestone Theft

By KGNS News

A local woman finds some changes during her visit at the cemetery.
Our Lauren Kendrick has the story.
"I went on his birthday which was August 24 and that's when I discovered that my stone was missing."
86 year old Norma Benavides was shocked when she found her gravestone marker missing.
"It's got my name and 1926 on it so it's not something that somebody can use."
Norma doesn't understand why someone would be so disrespectful to her or her beloved husband.
"My husband...my husband was a very honest...very humble...very hard working man."
"Benavides feels it had to have been more than just one person who stole the gravestone because of how heavy the stone is."
"It was just very shocking."
I asked Norma what her husband would think about such a theft.
"It wouldn't have happened...no."
