Halloween Safety

By KGNS News

It seems everyone is already in the Halloween spirit, but there's some individuals who by law should not take part in the fun.
Webb County's Probation Office says they are doing their part to keep registered sex offenders under their supervision and off the streets on Halloween night. That's when they take them into custody assuring they're not a threat to trick-or-treaters. Probation Officers are also visiting their homes to make sure they do not display any decorations, but parents must also do their part to look out for sex offenders such as those already convicted, or those living here.
Parents need to go to the DPS website, www.txdps.state.tx.us, type in the zip code, and look up the names that pop up. That way, parents can keep their children away from any houses of registered sex offenders.
