A man is hit head on on the highway and ends up being flown to a San Antonio hospital.
According to police, the 20 year old victim was traveling east on FM 1472 when 33 year old Erick Muñoz, who was driving a Toyota Tundra, was traveling the wrong way on the highway. Muñoz collided with the victim. After the impact, Muñoz allegedly fled the scene and was apprehended at the intersection of Candlewood and Del Mar. The victim was flown to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, due to the severity of his injuries. He suffered leg injuries and head trauma. He is currently in critical condition.
Muñoz was arrested for fleeing the scene of the accident and for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked and taken to Webb County Jail.
