A recent study shows our nation as a whole is not doing enough to help those affected by drug or substance abuse. Now a local writer is trying to get his book printed, "The Heroin Chronicles" to share with with the public. Alesio Lopez documented the stories of 12 individuals and their struggles with heroin, gathering their backgrounds from childhood until now, and what it is that keeps them hooked. The book digs into some of their most life changing events. Lopez hopes to gain funding to print the book, so his research can serve as an educational tool for local youth at non-profit. He sat with KGNS to tell us all about it.
