Family Pet Finds Human Remains In South Laredo

By KGNS News

Authorities surrounded a south Laredo neighborhood today after part of a human body was found very close to a backyard there.
Police say this is the second discovery at the same house in just a few days.
The puzzling case began this past Friday when officers were called out to the 2500 block of Wooster in this south Laredo neighborhood.
“They saw their family pet that it has something in its arm and messing with something.”
That something turned out to be a human arm.
One police described as mummified.
“It looked like it had been aged. Been there a while.”
“there isn’t any indication that the body part looked mutilated in any way or tampered with.”
But those details could change, as still very little is known about the find.
Authorities believe the dog may have found the arm in Chacon Creek that runs just behind the homes.
Officers continued the search over the weekend and on Monday found another body part this time a bone behind the same house.
“We’re trying to do our best to see if we can locate what will probably be a body here. Then there will be a full scale investigation as to how this person ended up there.”
Police say there are a lot of possibilities.
“we have had illegal crossings at this area. We have a location where we have run in with drug users. It could a lot of variety of different reasons.”
People living in the immediate area did not want to go on camera but wonder what else police will find in that creek.
“We’re dealing with a very large vast area they’re still canvassing the area to see if they can find anything else.”
Border patrol agents and a border patrol helicopter were called in to help search for more evidence from above.
The human remains found so far have been turned over to the medical examiner to try to determine who the person was.
Police are now trying to determine where the body parts came from.
