City Council Members Take Preventative Measures For West Nile Virus

The West Nile Virus was quickly being reported as a growing danger throughout the nation.
Laredo City Council Members were increasing preventive measures and are set to discuss the virus at the next meeting.
The city took proactive measures by spraying, to prevent the disease in Laredo; although their hasn't been any cases in our area, the mayor thinks the city should plan ahead.
Tomorrow, the council is set to have a briefing by the cities health director, Dr. Hector Gonzalez who will also gave tips on how to take precautions.
Mayor, Raul Salinas, says at this case he doesn't believe Laredoans should be alarmed but with reported cases in other parts of Texas, he says one must inform themselves on the situation.
"I think at the end of the day we need to take the correct measures if necessary. We will put people on alert but I think people should be aware of whats going on and take necessary measures to protect themselves."
