The Laredo Community College Nursing Program is receiving almost a million dollars to increase the number of nursing graduates.
Congressman Henry Cuellar announced the over 911 thousand dollar grant this morning. The goal of the grant is to increase the number of LCC nursing graduates by 20 percent by providing scholarships and stipends to students.
Dr. Nora Garza \ Vice President of Development:
“Ten of the top students will get a 4 thousand dollar scholarship we will also have 20 students who are going to get a stipend to continue. they have to participate in all activities which are study sessions.”
LCC will receive just over 300 thousand dollars per year for the next three years.
