It was a helpful meeting for migrant parents whose students attend Lamar Middle School.
Mariachi music was playing while parents and their students enjoyed lunch.
There was also a motivational speaker to help students deal with bullying.
Parents of migrant students were also on hand to learn about the programs for their children.
Arcelia Gonzalez, a migrant parent says, "immigrants like us, our kids learn nothings easy that if they want to come ahead, they have to get an education."
Her son works in North Dakota as a migrant worker and still manages to have all A's.
