I am Laredo, that's the name of the campaign hoping to get you out to vote. The general elections are not here just yet, but November the 6th is just around the corner. That's why organizations throughout Laredo are kicking off a campaign as of tomorrow, encouraging people to hit the polls and vote in the local, county, state and federal elections. The goal is to get people registered. We asked Laredoans out on the streets for their thoughts in a city with a usual low voter turnout.
"I think it will motivate people especially the younger crowd, thats the demographic they need to go after." (Al Liendo)
"Oh yes they need it.. A lot of people dont know what they are voting for they have nobody to explain to them." (Gloria Soto)
"No because most politics dont care for the people they are in it for themselves for their own jobs or how important they are." (Patricia Perez)
"I already registered, I'm ready so ready. I'm voting for (President) Obama beacause I want to keep health care reform." (Al Lee)
