Laredo man on trial for alleged crime spree with numerous twists

By KGNS News

A Laredo man is on trail for a crime with numerous twists.

Ricardo Pedraza is facing a judge and jury in the 49th District Court.

On November 8th of 2010, Pedraza allegedly got into a vehicle in the 2900 block of Boulanger threatening the victim in the vehicle at gunpoint.

Investigators say he then demanded her money and jewelry.

Pedraza then allegedly drove her to an ATM and forced her to withdraw $200.

After police received a report of a missing vehicle and person, two officers tracked down Pedraza leading them on a high speed chase over 120 miles through South Laredo. He escaped but was later caught and arrested, at that time wearing the woman's jewelry.

The victim herself took the stand to tell jurors about that night, as did an officer.

Testimony continues Wednesday in the 49th District Court in front of Judge Joe Lopez.
