Laredoans Share Valentine's Day Plans

Cookies and flowers are just a few of the things we women look forward to on Valentine's Day.
However some people we spoke to are going the extra mile.
The city is full of hustle and bustle with people running around to find the perfect gift to say I love you to their valentine. The Great American Cookie Company has been working long hours to ice their famous treats.
"We've had a crazy last three days. Yesterday was the absolute craziest with the most people wanting to place their order and pick up their order."
She says they have had over 1,500 orders. And many people choose to write important messages on their cookie cakes.
"We get a lot of will you be my girlfriend, lots of that."
Some even ask the most important question of all.
"Sometimes we've had cakes where they leave a little space so they can put the ring inside the cake. People are very creative."
We talked to one man who was busy buying gifts for his wife on this Valentine's day.
"I can't show it to you because then she'll see it. It's a little necklace for my wife. I usually buy her a necklace every valentine's."
If that isn't enough to earn him some brownie points, he's also picking up a gift for another special lady in his life.
"I usually don't do this, but I'm buying something for my mother in law too. I think Valentine's is a symbol of love so everybody should have love on valentine's."
"I think my fiance has a surprise to go out to dinner, but I don't know exactly what they are."
She goes on to say a lot of girls want to be showered with gift on this holiday, but she's happy with something you can't buy at a store.
"No, no. I never expect anything. Just being with him is enough."
