'Supply Our Students' supply drive is ready to help our students

Judge Danny Valdez, Guerra Communications, Z-93, Big Buck Country, Mayor Raul Salinas, City of Laredo Parks and Leisure, Laredo Police Dept., Laredo Fire Dept., Fernando A. Salinas Charitable Trust, International Bank of Commerce, Falcon International Bank, HEB, Lamar Outdoor Advertising, AEP Texas, AT&T, Librado Pina, Inc., The Rock Fitness Center, Laredo Young Lawyers Assoc, Laredo Independent School District (LISD), United Independent School District (UISD), many more sponsors and Telemundo Laredo, your CW and your Good Neighbor Station are teaming up once again to help students from both school districts at this year's 12th annual Supply Our Students school supplies concert.
In the past, people have donated over 80 tons of school supplies for needy children. This year, organizers say even more kids are in need because of the economy and flood.
Supply Our Students is the motto that has lead thousands of people to donate over 80 tons of school supplies over the past ten years for local needy students to help them in the classroom. It is the underlying theme to Laredo’s newest tradition in charitable endeavors, the 11th Annual S.O.S. Car Show & Concert will be hosted by Bird, Z-93. Each year the event garners more and more school supplies that are distributed to the needy school children of Laredo I.S.D. and United I.S.D. and continues to draw bigger crowds and talent.
This year's concert will be combined with a car chow at Casa Blanca Ballroom on August 8th from 3:00p.m. to 11:00p.m. Entrance is 5 packaged school supply items.
