Man Says Old Cemetery Needs Upkeep

Most laredoans may not know this but an old cemetery sits on the intersection of Shiloh and Snowfall on the north side of Laredo.
It was used during the early 1900's and one man is trying to do his part to keep this resting place alive.
In north Laredo sits an old abandoned cemetery, well it's not completely abandoned.
"there tombs, they got to be taken care of, I don't know why the city hasn't taken care of them,"says Eddie Woo who lives in the Neighborhood.
One man on the Wyndom Terrace cul-de-sac decides to take time out of his day and spruce up the old damaged and sometimes discarded graves of the past, cleaning up broken glass and graffiti.
"We are all gonna be there one day i wouldn't want me to die and have my tomb be abandoned or get graffiti over it sir."
Neighbors in the cul-de-sac say they've called the city to come and cut grass and clean up the place and have, but they say it's not enough.
Mr.Woo says he protects the the site where graves as old as the late 1800's remain because it evokes nostalgia.
"I lost my wife two years ago and i just cant see a tomb be left by itself and abandoned."
Right now it's not the city's responsibility to maintain the lot because it sits on private property.
all Mr. woo wants is for the cemetery to live on.
"I think this should belong to the city or they should just take care of it because they were human at one time;
I think laredoans or city council or somebody should put some effort and clean it up and help the community make this place a little better for everybody."
The city has contacted the owners of the property and have given them 10 days to comply.
About 70 graves are located in the cemetery and neighbors say the city told them it would cost one thousand dollars to remove each one.
