Laredo Crime Stoppers is starting off the year by publicly kicking off the Menudo Bowl.
Several people gathered at the Laredo Crime Stoppers office in downtown Laredo to announce the 16th annual event.
They celebrated with some menudo, served with all the trimmings.
The president of the organization tells there will be many advantages in attending this year, such as free parking.
She also talks to us about why they have this event on an annual basis:
"Pretty much Laredo crime stoppers is taking crime off streets and it's uh rewards get paid off and so this is one way of fundraising reward money to payoff our callers."
This year all children seven years and under will have free admission.
Adult tickets cost five dollars.
Benefits go to Laredo Crime Stoppers.
