TAMIU has been awarded the designation of "Military Friendly Schools" by Premiere Magazine for military personnel transitioning to civilian life. This is the 3rd year in a row that the university makes the list. For this fall semester there are 105 veterans and 99 veteran dependents enrolled at TAMIU. Eric Aguilar, Veteran’s Affairs Coordinator at TAMIU said, "Some veterans come back to Laredo not having employment or any type of work but with their benefits they are able to fall back on something." G.I. Jobs Magazine honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members and veterans as students.
