It’s the question many voters had throughout the day.
What are the results for today’s Webb County recount?
After about 12 hours of sorting through the ballots manually we have the official numbers.
The announcement made at election central at about 9:30 P.M.
The Democratic Chair stating Mike Montemayor remains the winner in the race for Webb County Commissioner Precinct #1.
Beating out incumbent Frank Sciaraffa with a difference of 10 votes.
Pre- recount the numbers showed Sciaraffa had only trailed behind by 4 votes.
The tally today resulting in a slightly larger gap
“The reason we took long is because we had to count all the early voting. Once we separated the boxes we had 14,000 ballots to count. Once we started counting it went really smoothly,” says Democratic Chair Sylvia Palombo.
The recount also showed that Adrian Cortez remains the winner for Webb County Constable Precinct #3.
