More Details on Arrested Constable

By KGNS News

More details are emerging about a deputy constable who was arrested yesterday by members of the F.B.I. Deputy Constable Eduardo Garcia is being charged with three counts of extortion under color of official right and one count of unauthorized access to protected computer information. He's accused of accepting bribes from a suspect who was transporting cocaine through Laredo.

Garcia allegedly accepted cash to provide protection for a vehicle that he believed was carrying cocaine from south Laredo to north Laredo. He reportedly accepted cash a second time to escort a second vehicle. According to the indictment, he also accepted cash to check a license plate number through the Texas law enforcement telecommunications system. The Laredo offices of the F.B.I. and D.E.A. conducted the investigation. Garcia made his initial court appearance this morning.
