Mother Loses Deceased Son's Sentimental Items in Fire

A woman is notified early this morning that her home is on fire.
Devastated, she rushes home to see what is left.
Our Lauren Kendrick spoke to her and has more.
A woman who lives by herself is wondering how this could have happened.
She says she's shocked to see her home the way it is and is now looking to thank the person she is calling a hero.
A sheriff deputy risked his life to save a woman he thought was inside. Luckily she was not, but he was left with smoke inhalation. Now the woman whose home the deputy went into says she couldn't be more grateful.
"I'm very worried about him. Just a little big ago an investigator called me. I asked him if he knew anything about the officer and how he was doing."
Anaberto Salcedo is now left picking sorting through the charred mess in her home.
"I answered a phone call from my neighbor saying the house was on fire."
Anaberto rushed home to see what was left of her home and was caught off guard.
"I think it was set on purpose because they stole stuff and then set it on fire."
Anaberto says she has no idea who would do something like this and says it has to be someone evil. She had recently been using a lantern as light since she did not have electricity. She says she left it by the door, but it was in the bedroom on top of a box spring which is what caused the fire.
"This is the actual room where the fire started, and of all the items that were ruined she says the most sentimental items are her sons soccer gloves."
"He was a goal keeper. His gloves are all burned up and that's the only memory I have of him."
Anaberto's son passed away two years ago, but she says with his possessions his memory lives on.
