The case of two men on trial for conspiracy of drug trafficking and murder for hire charges is now in the hands of the jury.
After hearing closing arguments late yesterday afternoon. Federal Judge George P. Kazen spent the good part of the morning giving the 12 jurors instructions on each of the counts Calvin Epps and Samuel Walker are facing. Some of the counts include: drug trafficking with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm with intent for murder for hire, and murder for hire.
Judge Kazen also explained to jurors the definition of the word entrapment, and how it relates to the law in this case. They were instructed to take into consideration all evidence presented without bias, or prejudice, and the verdict must be unanimous on all counts.
Attorneys for the defendants tell us they hope to have a decision by this afternoon.
