Baseball season may have just ended, but city council is looking to put an additional net up at the new Uni-Trade stadium in order to better protect fans. Council members said at least two people were severely injured by foul balls last season and council member Johnny Rendon, whose granddaughter was one of the victims, is asking for additional netting. The net would extend behind both dugouts and the city is already looking into putting it into place. "The engineers have to look at it because it's not just going out there and putting the net up there. There are some issues to put it up thereā¦a net that can withstand the impacts of the baseball." Officials said it would be tricky because they have to make sure they don't block the publics view of the field but they hope to get the net up before the 2013 season.
