The new year is inspiring many of us to take up new challenges to improve our lives, but for those who are interested in improving our planet, we've got some tips to help you go green this year. Local activists and environmentalists Tricia Cortez and Victor Hugo share some suggestions to help us shrink our carbon footprint this year.
-Take more 'stay-cations' and get more familiar with your hometown.
-Opt for filtered water instead of bottled water.
-Use green shopping bags instead of plastic bags.
-Keep our river free from pollutants and recycle.
-Become more active and help preserve Laredo's green spaces (wetlands, creeks, park areas).
-Plant a tree for a healthy breath of fresh air!
-Join organizations that help protect our environment like RGISC, the local Greenpeace International, or Keep Laredo Beautiful.
