A popular New Year's resolution is to be healthy and lose weight, but often people who don't create healthy habits don't accomplish their goal. However, there is a free program developed for people living with diabetes that is offering help to everyone interested in losing weight.
The City Health Department's Dr. Melissa Cavazos-Juarez, explains how their 'Healthy Living/Viviendo Mejor' classes benefit those living with diabetes, and those who would like to be healthier for the new year. The classes also include free cooking demonstrations.
You can register for the free program up until the first class day, Jan. 9, 2013, at the City Health Department Auditorium located at 2600 Cedar Ave. For more information, call 721-4994.
