An off-duty federal agent is arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Twenty-seven-year-old Patrick Golden was arrested in the 500 block of Shiloh Drive just after two Tuesday morning after a Laredo police officer stopped a vehicle that had cut through the parking lot of a nearby What-A-Burger.
The officer conducted a DWI test. We're told the investigation is still pending, but the driver allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.9%.
Customs and Border Protection sent out a statement in response to the arrest:
"CBP stresses honor and integrity in every aspect of our mission. As public servants, our agents are rightly held to a higher standard of conduct and are subject to the same laws and rules that apply to private citizens.
We fully cooperate with any criminal and administrative investigations of alleged misconduct by any of our personnel, on or off duty."
