A man is set to plead guilty today for his involvement in a murder that took the life of a 28 year old man.
Vicente Hernandez III is the fifth man set to plead guilty in a murder that took place back on July 21, 2004. The victim, Roberto Ivan Perez, was reportedly gunned down just before 2AM while he was getting into his vehicle. Witnesses report seeing one or possibly two gunmen walking up to him and opening fire. EMS arrived, but it was too late.
A witness told Pro8News she saw one of the shooters jump into the back of a pickup and speed away. Soon after, four suspects were taken into custody and each plead guilty.
Martin Francisco Camacho and Gregorio de Nova are serving 18 years in prison for their involvement in the murder while Genaro Tellez and Jose Eduardo Muñoz were given 5 years each.
Officials say Vicente Hernandez III turned himself in and is expected to plead guilty to a lesser charge of deadly conduct.
