Police Still Searching Lot For Human Remains

By KGNS News

A tip to authorities has Laredo police combing through a piece of land in south Laredo searching for human remains.
The search began Friday right next to an elementary school.
And today people are wondering if investigators have found anything.
Annette Garcia has the story.
Authorities have been out on this south Laredo property since late Friday, guarding this area 24 hours a day all as they try to determine is a body is buried here or not.
“Information came in through another law enforcement agency that there may be human remains that are out there.”
A tip to the Webb County Sheriff's office led Laredo Police to this ranch off La Pita Mangana near Ejido road Friday night.
Investigators are looking for human remains after information was given from a person authorities say is a credible source.
The lot, right next to an elementary school where classes continued on Monday, has been flooded by investigators and equipment being used to sift through and comb over every inch.
Police say it’s been a difficult task.
“There is very little information its a very dense unpopulated ranch.”
Every option is being utilized.
“they've even imported cadaver dogs from a neighboring jurisdiction to see if they're lucky enough to see if they can find anything that’s out there.”
Days of digging but according to police still nothing has been found.
Sources say its all part of a cold case but police have not confirmed who they are looking for.
As for that credible tip there are no clues as to where the information is coming from either.
Laredo police say they're not sure how long they will be here they say right now they're just trying to see what they find and gather any evidence they can.
