Police are warning residents about the deadly habit of shooting guns into the air on New Year's Eve. In past years, there have been several instances where homes and even people have been hit by stray gunfire as people celebrate the start of the New Year. Joe Baeza with the Laredo Police Department says not to take the chance that you could seriously injure or even kill another person. He went on to say, “We've already had a case this week where a person had damage to his vehicle due to a bullet that was fired from some other place and damaged the rear window.” Police say anyone caught firing a gun into the air will be arrested and charged.
