A recent demonstration by gun activists in San Antonio has people in texas thinking about current gun laws. Their rally at the Alamo brought together gun advocates who are interested in removing current restrictions on open carry. Currently you can carry a handgun in public only if you have it concealed. Advocates would like handguns can be displayed openly. We canvassed a member of law enforcement about the matter – Constable Rodolfo Ramirez, who said his concern about open carry is that members of the public may start confusing weapon carriers with police officers. In the meantime we'll have to look at what effects this has had in other states. There are some that allow it in their statutes.
