A man guilty of shooting another man in the face back in 2009 continues to wait for his sentence, as does another man involved in the incident.
The victim and the two men who plead guilty were in court today, where the victim hoped to finally get justice.
It's a case of a love triangle that happened on Aug. 29, three years ago.
Andres A. Ramos representing Christian Cantu said, "allegedly prior to the leading into the shooting their was a disagreement between the individual that was shot and Cantu regarding a female current girlfriend of victim and ex-girlfriend of Cantu."
The victim in this case got into a fight with his girlfriend's ex boyfriend.
That night two men, Christian Cantu and Ruben Garza showed up to his apartment.
Where Cantu hit Alanis with a bottle and Garza shot him in the face, shattering his jaw.
Alanis took the stand where he was asked to re-live that horrible night.
When asked how he would feel if the dependents did not get the maximum sentencing he said
I would not be happy, how would you feel if you got shot in the face and they did not pay the price.
On the other end the defense attorneys spoke about their clients.
"He is very tense very nervous he has never been through this before and just hard to go through and you relive the incident," said Fausto Sosa represented Ruben Garza.
Andres A. Ramos said, “he feels very bad this happened to Mr.Alanis he never intended things to go this far hopefully the witness and test witness will reflect that to the court."
Cantu and Garza plead guilty to aggravated assault could face two to twenty years in prison.
The prosecution is looking for the maximum sentencing with a minimum of 15 years behind bars.
Judge Joe Lopez says, he doesn't want the trail to linger but will continue the sentencing as early as Friday morning.
