The Webb County Sheriffs office has brand new equipment. Sheriff Martin Cuellar introduced the new ballistic engineered armored response counter attack truck, or bear-cat. It's a new weapon for the sheriff's swat team and includes several components such as ballistic steel, glass, and nine gun ports. The truck provides the SWAT team with the most updated protection. "We already responded to two emergencies, and other departments like to see us offer these types of services that provide protection and safety to our officers." In addition to the bear-cat, the sheriff also announced the addition of 20 rifles. The new equipment was obtained with a grant from Operation Stonegarden, the Texas border sheriff's coalition and operation linebacker.
