Webb County sheriff's deputies make another bust just outside Mirando City, and the drugs were again being concealed in a utility truck. Authorities say the stop was made around 5:20 this morning about three miles south of Mirando, and it didn't take long for deputies to find the narcotics.
Webb County Sheriff, Martin Cuellar says, “The driver was stopped for a traffic violation. Upon interviewing the driver, the deputy detected the odor the Marijuana coming from within the bed of the truck.”
Inside the truck were 46 bundles of Marijuana weighing in at over 800 pounds. The sheriff says they've been noticing many utility trucks being driven by men who try passing themselves off as oilfield workers but are instead trying to smuggle drugs through the city.
The two drivers from Edinburgh were arrested. The vehicle is registered out of Houston. Sheriff’s deputies are following up on the case along with ICE.
