The numbers are in. Convention and Visitors Bureau Officials say an estimated 16,000 people took part in this year's Sister Cities Festival up from last year's 14,500 people.
The festival drew exhibitors from across Mexico. All kinds of jewelry decor and even foods were sold at the festival. This year marked the event's 10th year anniversary.
It has grown to include 190 booths from 47 cities in Mexico. Organizers say it's a great shopping experience for Laredoans but the festival also draws lots of tourists looking for the Mexican cultural experience without having to go to Mexico.
