Skaggs Leads Bulldogs to Area Round

It was night to remember for the Alexander Bulldogs as they faced Donna last night in the Bi-District round.
It was a close game from the beginning, but week ten player of the week, Xavier Skaggs led the Bulldogs to a 35-24 win.
Skaggs brought in 140 yards rushing and had all five touchdowns to advance Alexander into the area round of the play-offs.
Head coach Joel Lopez said he's pleased with the way his team performed.
"They went down on the first drive, looked like they were doing pretty good but our defense did a good job at holding them up in a good goal line stance. Our offense came out and did a fabulous job of getting out of the hole and scoring. At that point we felt we were going to be ok throughout the game as long as we didn't give up the big play."
The Bulldogs will now advance and take on Weslaco next Saturday at Kingsville.
Game time will be at 7 p.m.
