Friday night saw the Alexander Bulldog football team go to Corpus Christi and come away victorius over Donna High School in the bi-district round of the UIL playoffs. Alexander got another amazing performance from senior running back Xavier Skaggs, who ran for 143 yards on 25 carries and caught four passes for 122 yards. Skaggs also accounted for all five of the Bulldogs touchdowns in Alexanders 35-24 win. Over the past two games, the senior has run and caught for 496 total yards and nine total touchdowns in the two Alexander wins. It has not been all Skaggs though, as Aaron Swain threw for 266 yards this week, with Alex Bryand catching 11 passes for 134 yards.
The Bulldogs will now take on a Weslaco team that is 6-5 on the season. Their game will kick off at 7:30 pm Saturday night at Texas A&M Kingsville. Ticket are $3 for students, $8 for general adimission and $8 at the door.
