TxDoT is also preparing to conduct a traffic study near the Guadalupe and Chihuahua overpasses to determine if the traffic lights at either end of the overpasses should be removed.
Traffic lights on Cedar and Chihuahua abruptly stop traffic headed east bound on the overpass. TX-DOT officials say they have been approached by Laredoans concerned the lights will cause an accident.
They say traffic tends to build up on the overpass causing lots of congestion. But others say the lights help slow down traffic. TX-DOT plans on conducting a study of the traffic flow and to determine if the lights should stay or go.
