One of the most popular events in the Washington's birthday celebration was in full swing Tuesday night.
The Laredo Energy Arena was the place to be for the 2012 Taste of Laredo. Restaurant and expert chefs from all across the Gateway City gathered under one roof, all vying to be tops in taste. We caught up with some of the people in attendance there and asked what their favorite food was of the night.
In the judges category for Best Tasting Award the Texas Roadhouse took first place, Frosted Sweets took second, while the Pastry House placed third. In the People's Choice Award Teocalli took the first place, followed by Tacos Ravi, and in third Chocolateka.
Restaurants also took a lot of time and effort in decorating their individual stations at the event. In the People's Choice for Best Decorated Booth Teocali came in first with a great set-up that included a Ballet Folklorico performance and a loteria game.
Placing second was the Great American Cookie Company who created a huge WBCA themed cookie. La Finca came in third place.
