This time of year we hear a lot about people giving back but it's not everyday that someone is willing to giveaway all their birthday presents to those with less.
It's not every day that a teen will give up time for charity let alone his own possessions, but thats exactly what 15-year-old D'Vaughn is planning to do with his birthday gifts.
"I didn't want to be selfish and get presents for me i just want to give back to the kids." said, D'Vaughn Hastings.
Back in August, he decided to ask for a birthday party which his mother says he usually doesn't like, but there was a catch instead of receiving presents he wanted to donate them to under privilege kids, an idea that came to him when he realized their is more to life than things.
He says, "since my hospital incident I guess it inspired me more to make a party like this, to give back to the community."
After severe Asthma attack left him in a coma for four days; doctors gave him a five percent chance of survival his mother never gave up hope.
Elizabeth Hastings said,"i knew he was a strong boy and he was going to be around for us for the family."
Guests donated 87 toys for boys and girls.
"yeah theres a good amount of presents." D'Vaughn said.
Every toy will be given to the Bethany House this weekend a deed he hopes will catch on.
"pay it forward give presents to kids in need."
