Texas Senator Calls Out Homeland Security

The effects of the sequestration continue and now senator John Cornyn is calling out the Department of Homeland Securities reaction to the situation..and the need to step up efforts along our Texas border.
Cornyn's office releasing photos of a meeting in D.C. with Governor Rick Perry where the discussion involved what they are calling a lack of leadership on the part of D.H.S.
The senator referencing the recent release of the more than two-thousand-immigrants into communities across Texas and the U.S. for budgetary reasons, but hes now pointing out that Ten of them were high level offenders.
The senators press office also releasing a letter written to secretary Janet Napolitano expressing his concern on how D.H.S. will reduce spending to satisfy the billions in cuts required by the government.
He quotes testimony where its indicated that customs and border protection will have to reduce work hours by the equivalent of over five thousand Border Patrol Agents and two thousand C.B.P. officers.
All this impacting air and land ports of entry.
The proposed furloughs of personnel and the release of criminal alien immigrants represent a violation of certain of the departments core missions preventing terrorism and enhancing security and managing our borders.
