Laredo students will join thousands of others throughout Texas, who will get another chance at passing our states standardized testing. Results show many children and teens are struggling to pass and hese week theyll get another shot. It’s retake time for the five state of Texas assessment of academic readiness exams "must pass" to graduate. The Austin American-Statesman reports students entering their sophomore year will be the first to take all five Staar Tests required for graduation. Those who haven't passed can retake the tests as many times as needed. We asked some local students and parents what they think about the Staar. More than 152-thousand students recently failed the English writing test alone, some of those students were taking it for the fourth time.
